Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

Bitches Ku

Hey, what would Also Sprach Zarathrusta sound like if Miles’ electric band played it?

  1. Oh no not bird song!

    Lol
Do people still hang out in the comments section or what? This one seems like low hanging fruit…

Random Dead (and co) connection: This version of this song was in the Peter Sellers/Hal Ashby classic film “Being There” which has a scene near the beginning where a very young Oteil Burbidge (as one of a group of street kids) confronts Sellers’ character. I only caught this recently.

Oh, love this!! Have very distinct memory of sitting in the bedroom at Mitchel Field on Long Island and hearing it on WLIR when that was a bad ass radio station in the 70s. Some time later, I heard it used to great effect in a movie soundtrack, but I do not remember the movie. Need to do research. Many years later, saw this certain noodly band at the Knick in Albany that did this live and the crowd went batshit and I went “Pffftt . . . Deodato did it first and better.”

“Being There.” That was the flick. It was PERFECT in context there.

When my dad bought his first decent stereo (as versus the record-player-as-furniture unit that preceded it) he also picked up this album, saying that it would really show us what stereo was about. It did. Good memory…
