He’s great, a little known great track featuring him is this – digable planets and Lester Bowie doing ‘flyin high in the Brooklyn sky’
Since we’re being DJ’s this year. The lennie white album A few post s backwas pretty. Good. https://youtu.be/mFQSu4ganIs
Yikes , he should have stuck to bass. Another great wah wah Watson album that he features on is Meshell nedegeocello 96 album peace through passion check out this Gladys Knight and the pips cover, https://youtu.be/Wn6GpDvOgFM
I didn’t know he just recently passed away. R.I.P. such a monumental musical legacy he behind.
Mind if I spin a record, as we DeeJay for each other.
Before I do, I want to note that I hepped JES to some Prog that he was not aware of, perhaps dutch, had organ.
Just saying he has not absorbed all the music, just most of it.
Regardless,
I was in Melbourne Australia, I had rented a car, I was there for work, but had a weekend.
I drove down(or up? Once I cross the equator I mix those up) the coast.
They played the radio, it was awesome, like Canada radio but better still. They played a lot of Daptone Gold cuts, and it was great. But then they played this.
I had to go online to find a playlist to find the song.
It might stick with you, like it stuck with me. Or not, regardless here it is.
P.S. In “Be Your DJ” mode, this is my fave song, right here, right now. Saw Frank play it live yonks ago at a club show in Upstate New York where snow reduced the crowd to me (the newspaper music crit) and maybe 10 other folks, all of whom were there to see the other guy playing that night (Edwin McCain). I bonded with Dunnery accordingly, and ended up doing a long interview piece with him a month later.

Oh my, that is a brilliant one, new to me, thank you! I like this “Be Each Others’ DJ” plan for 2020 . . .
(So long as I can try to make everybody listen to early ’70s Dutch Prog and related offshoots).
I would hear more of this early ’70s Dutch prog.
How about this one? Founding Focus bassist, gone solo . . . .

What has this world come to.
Yeah, that was a GOOD Dutch Prog reference. I was glad to be proven ignant. (And to be able to find a one-step connection to Focus).
