I don’t think he’d even want to be connected to something like that. I know it’s been said but holy crap the quality of these posters is going way, way down as we move along.
July 13, 2016 at 4:37 pm
The first three or four were really good, but they’ve become utterly amateurish. Add the $50 price tag and it’s insulting.

Maybe if you do the Mad Fold In it would show……

i bet Scully tried to work a deal with Mad. Or maybe with Hanna-Barbera. Scooby Doo meets the Harlem Globetrotters, Muhammed Ali, and the Grateful Dead at the Tivoli. Donna Jean & Keith find a secret passageway in King Frederik IX’s castle. Pigpen pairs up with Queen Margarethe II, hijinx ensue……..my fantasy on the walk to work.

What did Roger Dean’s attorney say?
July 14, 2016 at 2:49 am
“…after a while you learn to cope with things like seeing your dead grandmother crawling up your leg with a knife in her teeth…”
July 14, 2016 at 2:53 am
(Well, posted that in the wrong place…I have serious issues with first drafts.)
July 14, 2016 at 2:55 am
It even says “ASIA” across the top, no?
(what I meant to post, first.)
July 13, 2016 at 10:11 pm
“utterly amateurish” strikes me a quite harsh; it can’t have been easy to execute, and the images fit the size (to my eye). It’s derivative as heck, but that’s not always bad in a concert poster. I’d be interested in reactions from people more the age of Josh Mayer fans, because they might be a big target. ‘Course, they wouldn’t spend $50 for a poster, I hope.
Love the Mad/Newman images.

This one’s not as bad as the one for Alpine Valley.
July 14, 2016 at 12:46 am
Alpine Valley was just straight up lazy.
July 14, 2016 at 1:08 am
I thought this poster was decent, I bought one. The patterns and colors, sound like a hippie, but I like them.
It is better than Alpine (cut and paste) and Detroit(monochrome).
Not as good as Indy (VW skeleton)
Not as good as Bristow VA (exotic birds, for no reason, I like that)
Better than Hartford and Saratoga (friggin bears, pastel rainbow)
Not as good as Cambden (playing card sweet)
I can not decide on Cinci (cliche? )
Can not decide on Colorado crows.
July 14, 2016 at 10:27 am
The CO crows are kind of cool, as long as you see both posters together.
July 14, 2016 at 10:25 am
The skelly reminds me of Queen Victoria.

If they are borrowing ideas, they should copy this Mao Cultural Revolution propaganda.
Put Jeff C in the middle of this.

死与公司 Sǐ yǔ gōngsī……which probably doesn’t translate as Dead & Company, more likely Your Guests Have Suffocated. throw a yin yang in that “o”. or maybe that is too busy?
July 14, 2016 at 10:14 pm
I need a big version of this. This kind of genius cannot be confined to the Comment Section, wonderful a place as it is.
July 14, 2016 at 10:33 pm
I just sent bigger ones to your Gmail gossip line, if they aren’t the right size/messed up let me know.

Tor, I would proudly hang that sucker on my wall.
July 14, 2016 at 9:34 pm
You made it happen,
That is hilarious.
Question: Does the rest of the Deadhead world think stuff like that is over the top wonderful, or are we broken in some strange way?
Like ToTD is the gathering place for the warped rats.
July 14, 2016 at 10:13 pm
I’m leaning towards the warped rats theory…… It is fun though.
July 14, 2016 at 6:41 pm
There’s pokemon looking things hidden it that poster if mirrored a few times…. or maybe I just seeing things again?
