As an ex-studio engineer, I would have loved to been the tape op when Bob asked for the sound of thick air and then watch Hassinger pull his hair out while banning Phil Lesh from further mixing sessions. I bet Dave preferred working with The Stones. Anthem of the Sun is one record that needed random access digital editing. Too bad it wasn’t regularly used 25 years later. Sounds like part of this New Potato Caboose version made it to the final edit after the vocals, but who knows. This audible proof that they could play these two back to back live(like we needed any).

I believe Phil is looking at photo contact sheets not a book,that size cost a couple bucks in the 80’s and do should have been pretty cheap in the 60’s. It’s a metal iron form sitting on the other contact sheet used to dry them out and stop them from curling,
