This rare photo–indeed, so rare that I found it on Google–marks the only known gig of Garcia’s short-lived punk band, Jerry Zoom and the Fall Down Go Booms.
It is also the fourth time I have deliberately not identified Paul Kantner.
It’s easy to make fun of Garcia for choosing an outfit and sticking with it, But it was a good and strategic decision on his part.
This doesn’t work for anyone. Three cheers for black t-shirt and jeans.
