They might have made this film specifically for me. Los Angeles in the 70’s, scruffy detectives, Keith David: this one’s got everything I want. Go check it out.
Plus: Russell Crowe is pushing 300 pounds, easy, but that blue leather jacket in the picture is maybe the coolest movie jacket since Shaft’s; also, Ryan Gosling is apparently funny as hell. Who knew?

’70s Toronto, filmed in Kensington Market, Eaton Centre, CIBC etc. The Silent Partner with Elliott Gould & Christopher Plummer…..and a young John Candy. Candy has 2 or 3 lines one of which is “Sure” after his co-worker asks if “anyone wants to smoke a Number”. A suspense thriller with Elliott Gould plays a bank teller and Christopher Plummer an psychotic bank robber.
