Haiku’s are to writers, what accordians are to musicians.
There are instruments that people feel free to dump on, and I think I’ve had a wonderful time dancing to most of them. Sure, accordion isn’t my most favorite, but a well-played squeeze box can add a lot of good sounds to a good group. Ditto for banjo, or bodhran. And someone who isn’t very good at guitar or violin can really bore you.

Just some folks(well let me be clear, this means I know of one, and one only) are drawn to them, after devoting decades to the guitar, they show up on stage playing the thing after a year or so of messing around.

You know who’s a great accordionist? Flaco Jiménez. I believe based on failing memory he plays on ry Cooder ‘the skeleton f-ing album’ and the paradise and lunch album . Something about a flying Mexican airforce and I’m pretty sure he’s played with los lobos.
Indeed. And only one tiny degree of separation from our local heroes by way of Doug Sahm and the Texas Tornados.
Far out, I wasn’t familiar with the Texas tornadoes I know Doug sahms other bands. Didn’t know the roky Erickson connection , used to have that two headed dog 7”
