I’m not much of a car guy these days, but I blame that on modern anodyne cars. Nearly anything available for purchase right now is at least competent; the deltas that existed between a Dodge and a Mercedes in the 70s just ain’t there anymore.
That said, I have a huge car boner for these old BMWs. My friend Brent had a 70-something BMW 2002tii that was more fun than a frog in a glass of milk. I tried and failed repeatedly to buy it from him.
Funny to think of Jer as a BMW guy, although I suppose a Beemer in the early 70s was a legitimately clever choice rather than a yuppie accessory.
