If I am reading this correctly, the assertion is that someone took an old photo of Bob Weir and photoshopped it somehow (his shirt or something). That someone is obsessed with the Dead, and has time on his hands, and so he does things like this.

When my wife and kids go to bed i sometimes photoshop Phil’s head onto Bobby’s body etc……. I never mess with Garcia though.

Bobby did briefly play a Les Paul in the summer of 1971. I believe it was an accessory with that weird sarong thing he was wearing for a shirt at that time. When the sarong wore out, the Les Paul went into his guitar vault for good.
yes – this is definitely for real – there are more pics of this 71-08-15 gig showing Bobby playing a black Les Paul. And at some more gigs around that time too. Maybe was his own, or Jerry’s old from 67. Who knows? Strange switching of guitars in 71, indeed.
