curiously enough i just a month ago read about bob’s visit to the Mariposa folk fest and the author said something like, bob chose a’ hippy disguise’ (ha!) to blend in which worked for a while but then people caught on and he had to leave. I think it might have been in Bernie Finkleman of True North Records auto-bio. but I’ll have to check, it was a humerous description and now I’ve seen the photo, thanks TOTD.
Actually its Bernie Finklestein (I was thinking of Cheech and Chong ‘the finklestein shit kid’ who actually is based on a prick anti marijuana cop in Vancouver who died a few years back ) and it must have been his book because in fact that is him with the beard and the band shirt on the right, he brought Dylan there in fact. I’m glad to say True North Records is still going strong and I’ve seen two of their artists recently on my wee island. Bruce Cockburn and Matt Anderson and the Mellotones.
Excellent.
Thanks for the link.
That looks like the great David Bromberg lurking behind Dylan and Redbone.
Good call.
Looks like van the man on the far left.
