Don’t drive yourself insane. Turn off CSPAN and relax instead with this classic Ian Hunter album featuring a murderer’s row of musicians. Don’t believe me? Look at this bullshit:

That’s some E Street bullshit right there. (And Ellen Foley!)

E Street? So what? There’s a Velvet Underground on there. Nice call on Ellen Foley though. She was sort of a The Clash, after all. https://damienlove.com/writing/sandinistas-sister-ellen-foley-the-lost-clash-album/
AND A BOC!!!!
I totally suspected a Todd Rundgren production credit, but if that had been the case well Ian would be a superstar
I read a book some years ago that focused specifically on Todd’s production career. Mindblowing how many hits he helmed.
This’n . . . A real good read . . .

I wasn’t big into Mott or Hunter in the ’70s, but this album was one that EVERYONE around me liked when it came out, and I dug it too. It was the right disc at the right time, I guess. Then after a year or so, I never spun or thought about it again. Good to be reminded of it.
I love Ian Hunter. Literate Glam. He was a rare rockyroll lyricist who was smart, but not overly-impressed by the fact.
