Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

And All The Ships At Sea

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

I have nothing to say but that I love you.

This has been a great time in history. It has been an honor to share it with both the blogger who brought us here and all my fellow enthusiasts. May god have mercy on our souls.

Oh, come on, you guys! Cheer up! We will get to see great things. We will see Mexico build a wall that they will pay for with their suddenly cheaper currency. And, there will be more room in the country because 11 million illegal aliens will be deported.

As Mr. Kesey said, “We ain’t many.”

Pop the goat. Skin the fuse. Light the bag.

We love you, too. Keep doing this beautiful, weird thing for us. We need it.

Plenty of room on the farm if you need people a vacation.

Several years ago, I accompanied my wife and mom on a vacation about B.C. It was beautiful, fun, and inspiring. But… the length of the days in July made me think about the shortness of them in February. And I concluded that I could never, ever live that far north and not succumb to a seasonal disorder. A generous offer, Spencer, for a summery time.

It’s getting dark at dinner time right now, if I didn’t have such a connection to the land……

Dr John the Night Tripper made a nice version of that tune on his Babylon album, complete with children’s choir.

All I can think of is Bonasera in the opening scene in The Godfather: “She was a beautiful girl. The light of my life. Now…she will never be beautiful again!”
