Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

The Ballad Of John DeLorean

Potato salad and Icarus stories: that’s what America is made of. Read this; it’s long but it needs to be.

That’s some really good punchy prose there . . . the writer’s third-person, present-tense approach and apparently Hemingway-esque fear of adjectives, adverbs, and compound sentences works well for the subject matter! I was only a dozen paragraphs in and I already felt like I needed a line of toot to keep up with him . . .

It was damn fine writing. Sturdy and manly.

And I loved the one set-up/punchline about the town in Jersey DeLorean moved to. When I read that, I thought “Doesn’t some other jackass live there?” and sure enough…

At least he could keep one ball in the air.
