And as a cyclist, that album is mind-blowing in how well it captures the cadences and sounds and feelings of riding.
“Computer World” is the one of theirs I love the most, though. Short, all memorable songs, truly futuristic as fuck when I first heard it and forced it on all of my friends, who hated it.
I vaguely remember Lester bangs ‘reviewing’ kraftwerk, I think he went to a concert and drank a bunch of cough syrup and I believe your description of the stage ‘show’ is accurate. Every Canadian of a certain age knows kraftwerk as excerpts were used as theme music for w5 a tv program and numerous CBC radio programs that were played constantly. I had them all on 8 track (Although I think by the time of Tour de France album 8 tracks had faded away) and heard autobahn through a really really good sound system a lot. Aah the sound effects!
Ja.

I got new friends after that.
One of the most thrilling shows I’ve ever attended.
Kraftwerk? It’s four pale dudes standing at little desks!
