Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

Original’s Better

“Listen, boy! That’s a real bass guitar, not that a miserable pud-puller like you would recognize it.”

“Mom says that’s the kind of talk that drove Grandma to suicide.”

“My finest accomplishment.”

OR

People have mostly forgotten about Rod Stewart. Good call, People.

  1. Awwwwwww . . . . . . I like those old Rod albums, plus the Faces stuff . . . .

(But in this case, yeah, original’s better).

(And speaking of Elton [indirectly]: tix went on sale at 10am this morning for his farewell tour show here in Des Moines next June. I was at the computron, finger poised over the “BUY NOW DAMMIT” button as the second hand flipped and the page went live. The browser hung up for a couple of minutes, and then I was put in a digital queue, and then at 10:09a, I was informed there were no tickets remaining at any price. Goddamned bots. I popped over to TicketFucker a little while ago to see what the resale market had to say . . . . tix in the section I was trying to get are listing for five to ten times their face price at this point. Grumble. I know there will likely be some available for more reasonable prices when show time is closer, but I’m too damn old to want to do the whole parking-lot-need-a-miracle thing anymore, namsain?)

  2. My wife, who is otherwise wonderful, hates that album. The original, she is 49 so maybe that is why?

His version of crazy horse , I don’t want to talk about it is good. But the original is better in that case as well.
