   Oates, was, in fact, recruited by Bobby for the Grateful Dead “reserve squad”, as no one is really sure any of these old farts can last through three days of July heat in the midwest sun. Oates did reply, however,”I can’t go for that.” And Weir, offended because he didn’t get the joke, kicked him right in the potato salad.
