    Also . . . Bykowski was credited as “the Gibson-equipped token white devil with a flair for blacknotic trippacautionary vibrations.”

    I’d feel like I’d achieved everything in life I needed to if that description had been appended to my name. True JES fact: I was the token white devil in the first live band I played onstage with, circa 1977, though I was Fender-equipped.

    They threw me out soon thereafter, probably because my blacknotic triappacautionary vibrations weren’t as strong as they should have been. Damn.

    It was very convenient that punk rock came around soon thereafter so that white boys with guitars, but not much talent, could still get onstage.
